About us

Pisos Baratos is an independent blog about affordable housing in Spain. We analyse real listings of flats and houses for sale and rent to answer a single question: is it really a good buy?

How we work

  • We start from listings published on property portals (Habitaclia, Idealista, Fotocasa) and always cite the source, the reference and the date we checked it.
  • We work out the price per square metre and compare it with what is for sale the same day in the same neighbourhood, not with national averages.
  • We run the full numbers: indicative mortgage payment, taxes and purchase costs in the relevant region, yield if the flat is an investment.
  • We flag what a listing does not say: lift, floor, condition of the building, energy certificate, tenancy status, planning status.
  • We update articles when the price changes or the listing disappears, and show the update date.

What we do not do

We are not an estate agency, we do not publish sponsored listings and we do not broker sales. We do not recommend buying any property: we provide the analysis so you can decide with data. Listing photos belong to their agencies and are shown with attribution and a link to the source.

Affiliation and advertising

Some links to services (mortgages, insurance, utilities) may be affiliate links: if you sign up through them we earn a commission at no extra cost to you. They are marked as such and do not influence the analyses.
